Questions? We've got answers.
Everything people ask us about fire alarm and PA systems, from choosing a detector to passing your Form B inspection.
Products & Brands
For fire alarms we supply Agni, Apollo, Dahua, GST, Morley by Honeywell, Notifier by Honeywell, Ravel (addressable and conventional) and System Sensor by Honeywell. For PA systems we carry Bosch, EON and Honeywell.
A conventional panel tells you which zone (for example, a floor) has a fire. An addressable panel tells you the exact device and its location, and its looped wiring keeps working through a single cable break. Conventional suits small sites; addressable suits larger or critical buildings.
Use optical smoke detectors in bedrooms, offices, corridors and server rooms for the earliest warning. Use heat detectors in kitchens, pantries, car parks and generator rooms, where smoke, steam or dust would cause false alarms.
Usually not. Addressable devices speak their panel maker's own protocol, so they have to match the panel. Conventional devices are more flexible, but check compatibility with us before you buy.
Each product page shows the current price, plus a brochure download where one is available. For anything else, ask our sales team and we will send you the datasheet.

Yes. Share your floor plan and we will suggest panels, detectors and a wiring layout, and quote for the full system.
In Maharashtra, building owners and occupiers must submit a Form B certificate from a licensed agency twice a year, in January and July, confirming their fire safety systems are maintained. Get your fire alarm serviced ahead of those dates.
Fire alarm circuits should use fire survival cable, commonly 2-core 1.5 sq mm, so the system keeps working for longer during a fire. Fire alarm cables should not be shared with other services.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Test one manual call point every week (a different one each time) and have a technician service the whole system every six months.
The usual causes are cooking fumes, steam, dust from building work, insects inside a detector, or old and dirty detectors. Note when and where it happens, then have that device cleaned, replaced or swapped for a better-suited type.
A fault means the panel has found a problem, such as a cable break, a missing detector, a low battery or an earth fault. It isn't a fire, but that area may not be protected until the fault is fixed, so call your service team.
Most manufacturers recommend replacing smoke detectors after about 10 years, because dust slowly reduces their sensitivity. Replace them sooner if they keep causing false alarms after cleaning.
Yes. Fire alarm panels have standby batteries that keep the system running during a power cut, typically sized for 24 hours on standby plus 30 minutes in alarm. Batteries wear out, so have them checked at every service.
PA Systems
A PA system handles announcements, paging and music. A voice evacuation system is linked to the fire alarm and automatically plays evacuation messages zone by zone, with monitored lines and battery backup.
Often, yes. Many PA systems can take a signal from the fire panel to mute music and play an emergency message. For full voice evacuation, the amplifiers and speaker lines also need to be monitored.
Bosch and Honeywell are popular for integrated PA and voice evacuation in larger buildings; EON is a good fit for amplifiers, speakers and mixers on everyday PA jobs. Tell us about your site and we will recommend a setup.
